New Large Format Printer and Heat Press are Here!!

Today has been an exciting day for Bill and I. On Tuesday we spent the day having our new large format dye sublimation printer installed. We tested this out with some fabric products and pressed using our smaller press - great results - good strong colours and solid blacks - very impressed!
Today the new heat press arrived. early this morning it was strong armed into its new home and wired up ready for us to press large format images or bulk runs of prints. The printer and press were soon in action and the first transfer prints were pressed onto sheet aluminium. Some tweeks to printer profiles and timing and temperature checks done, we made our first large format print.
Kay took some shots at Old Warden a month ago with a Nikon D800 with a mind to having some test images for just this, so processed a photo of a Hawker Hurricane. The print rolled off, all looked fine, so off to the press and a few minutes later the image appeared on high gloss coated aluminium sheet: 100cm x 70cm.
We were really pleased with the results and followed this with some canvas sheet testing too - also really pleased, producing vivid colours and fine detail.
