Fabric Printing

We are busy expanding our printing range now we have the new printer and press so this last weekend Kay spent some time looking at how we can include fabric options. Dye sublimation is perfect for this. No rubbery bags and t shirts, ironing isn't affected, the design is wash-proof... all the issues affecting fabric printing are really taken care of.
This weekend saw Kay embarking on a project to renovate two very well loved (maybe too well loved!) directors chairs that belonged to her Grandad. They had been re-canvassed about 20 years ago but this had now worn out. Replacing this with some bright cheerful canvas was the plan, and while walking through Green Park in London a month ago, Kay spotted the beautiful designs on the traditional deck chairs there. Inspired by this, she went through looking for a suitable image. One such deck chair had been printed with ducks and this had Kay thinking - introducing the 'Duck Chair'!
Kay took this image a few months back whilst on Bedford Embankment and it seemed the natural choice! The image worked in both the letterbox format for the back and the large, almost square shape for the seat. The canvas was extended with text so it wraps round to incorporate text on the back.
Now all that remains is to sew the back up and attach the seat and sit back to enjoy a well earned cuppa!
